Imbalanced Spleen on an emotional level

What does an imbalanced spleen look like on an emotional level?

🔸Worry - throwing your spleen energy into overdrive by thinking about past, present or future events.

🔸Overthinking - you may find yourself thinking through something - an event, circumstance, past conversations, to the point where it is just not beneficial anymore. This could interfere with sleep.

🔸Ruminating - spinning your wheels over the same thoughts, almost obsessively without being able to shut it off. Replaying conversations in your head is a big one.

🔸Taking care of others, mothering, or doing more for others than yourself. This can eventually come to the point of self-neglect. Self-care can become non-existent. Your emotional, spiritual and physical nourishment is lacking.

🔸Emotional eating - specifically sweet cravings! If you find yourself reaching for sweets or carbs, your body may be trying to nourish your spleen. And too much of a good thing can actually cause the spleen to become more weak. The spleen loves sweet things, and a small amount of good sources can be beneficial and nourishing to it. Think small amounts of honey, yams or sweet potatoes, or organic rice. But keep in mind, consuming highly sugary foods will weaken the spleen.

If this is resonating for you, stay tuned. We’ll share more about the spleen and share a few tips for how to nourish your spleen at home next week.
