Your period is your time to rest!
Unpopular opinion: your period is your time to REST. Consider this your permission to do so! 😴💤
Most will tell you that regular exercise is good during your period and will help minimize cramps. But, from a traditional Chinese medicine standpoint this is the body’s natural time to rest. Your body is exerting a lot of energy to cleanse and empty the uterus. Over exercising during this time can drain your energy and deplete the qi in the body. Rest, rest, rest and do so unshamefully!
Are you feeling called to move while menstruating? Try yin yoga, walking or other light forms of movement during this time. You may find that actually allowing your body to slow down during this time gives you more energy throughout the month!
Acupuncture during this time is also a great way to show your body a little extra love, and minimize cramping and other menstrual symptoms.
