Struggling with insomnia?
Did you know we treat insomnia?
Acupuncture helps regulate the endocrine (hormones!) and nervous systems, allowing the body to settle into healthy sleep patterns.
Having issues with sleep? Aside from acupuncture, here are a few sleep hygiene habits to make sure you’re doing:
🌙Make sure your bedroom is pitch black. Once lights are out and eyes are adjusted to the dark, you should not be able to see your hand in front of your face. Cover led lights on TV, humidifier, fans, etc with tape or stickers. Get yourself some blackout curtains. Or just use an eye mask!
🌙Avoid mentally stimulating activities before bed: think lit screens, games, work.
🌙No caffeinated beverages past noon! Some need to stop even earlier in the day.
🌙Avoid sugary foods after dinner.
🌙Cut out the wine!!!🍷 We know, we’re sorry.. Alcohol may help you fall asleep, but it definitely interferes with staying asleep and healthy REM cycles.
🌙Eat dinner 3 or more hours before bedtime. Insulin and melatonin don’t work alongside one another. If you want your melatonin to kick in, don’t eat close to bedtime.
🌙Take your magnesium and other minerals at nighttime! They help your body wind down and relax. Plus your body won’t absorb them well if you’re taking them in the morning.
Wishing you a full nights sleep,
