Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has developed over a period of at least 3,000 years.  It is a holistic medicine which takes into account all of the systems of the body and how they interact with one another as well as external environmental factors. Ideally, the systems and organs function together to maintain homeostasis (a healthy balance) in the body. This interconnectedness is why a TCM practitioner can almost never treat one part, or system, without affecting the whole. Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners see disease as a result of the disruption of the harmonious balance of these systems.

TCM practitioners utilize a combination of therapies including acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, massage, diet modifications and exercises. Treatments are individualized for the patient depending on their unique manifestation of a disease.

MSTCM (Masters in Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Pacific College of Oriental Medicine)
NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine)  Currently training in Quantum Biology

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist & Chinese Herbologist. I obtained her Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego, CA.

I have been in practice since 2011. My passions are working with infertility, pain management, migraines, sports injuries and digestive disorders. I maintained a private practice for 8 years in San Diego before relocating my family to the Boise area.

Pacific College of Oriental Medicine is renowned for its comprehensive and rigorous program which has a heavy emphasis on western medicine.  This has allowed me to easily understand a patient's needs as they often come in with a western diagnosis.

Acupuncture/Traditional Chinese Medicine is growing more popular each day, and it’s exciting to be on the forefront of these changes in healthcare. Many of my patients come to acupuncture after having "tried everything”, and the conditions tend to be chronic and/or difficult to treat with Western medicine. I feel so much gratification when my patients have dramatic results after living with their conditions for so long. I am passionate about partnering with my patients to live with decreased stress and pain and increased joy and purpose.

Years ago I worked in an integrative setting with MDs, DOs, chiropractors and nutritionists but I’ve found that I deeply appreciate that in our practice at Golden Hour Acupuncture I am able to spend far more one on one time with my patients, leading to far better outcomes.

I have also worked part time as an adjunct professor at Ashford University in the Department of Complementary and Alternative Health.

NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine)  Balance Method practitioner

Growing up, I was raised with the understanding that my body had a profound ability to heal itself. Raised by chiropractors and others in healthcare, I was always asking questions about how my body worked and why. I had a deep curiosity for it and loved learning how to care for my body.

At age 16 I had my first glimpse into the world of Chinese Medicine and was amazed. I realized there was so much I could learn from this ancient healing art and wanted to know everything my acupuncturist knew. I was fascinated!

I decided to follow my dreams and completed my Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southern California's South Baylo University in 2014. I was very fortunate to study under world-renowned acupuncturists and medical doctors. What I gained in my studies was an even deeper respect and understanding of the deep interworking of the human body. I was taught that our physiology is completely interconnected and should be respected as such. Each small part has an important role within the entire system. It is truly all connected. The intelligence and wisdom of the human body will never cease to amaze me.

Through extensive clinical training, I was taught to view each patient as the unique individual that they are and to spend the time necessary with each patient to really understand their condition and set of issues. I learned how to use ancient but profoundly effective techniques to ease pain, manage and even eliminate emotional issues, treat many internal disorders, bring hormones back into balance, and ultimately bring the entire system back into a healthy state of homeostasis. I have found that patients respond extremely well to this kind of focused intention from their practitioner; especially those who have tried many other treatment modalities but have not had successful outcomes.

In 2020, after furthering my clinical training in the area of women’s health and fertility, I became a fellow of ABORM, the Acupuncture Board of Reproductive Medicine. This has allowed me to better serve patients, both male and female, with fertility issues.

It is my passion to help patients find lasting resolution with their health concerns so that they can live a more full life.

I am committed to educating and empowering my patients on how to take control of their health and live a more balanced lifestyle in this busy western world we live in. I truly have a love and passion for this medicine and hope to share it with anyone who crosses my path!
